Prince William and Kate Middleton are getting into the festive spirit. As you can see in the photo above, Kate Middleton’s red mini-dress made her look like an elegant Christmas present.
Together with Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge (and owner of Very Good Coats) attended a Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. She had a crimson, voluminous, midi-length Catherine Walker dress with a festively sized bow. People reported that the duchess wore the queen’s jewels with her dress and a pair of red heels.
According to People, this will be Kate’s first time presenting the annual royal Christmas performance, which honors the extraordinary efforts of people and groups across the United Kingdom in responding to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. ITV will capture the event and air it on Christmas Eve as well.
The concert was scheduled to air on BBC, but the network moved to ITV when the royal family criticized a recent documentary about William and Harry’s interactions with the media (The Princes and the Press).
The palace issued a statement before the broadcast reading, “For a democracy to thrive, it is essential to have a press that is free to report without fear of reprisal or censorship. However, it is disappointing when anyone, including the BBC, gives credibility to exaggerated and false statements from nameless sources.”
BBC has defended the program, stating it is “about how royal journalism is done and covers a spectrum of journalists from broadcast and the newspaper sector.”
